Planning Engineer

Our client is a global logistics operator with an impressive portfolio of clients. The role, on a prestigious operation in Bognor Regis requires a highly motivated Planning Engineer.

To support the Logistics Engineer with the data collection and analysis, planning, process design and capture through the implementation of the company’s agreed Project Methodology and Quality Management Systems. The function that the officer will be tasked with will be dependent on the needs of the business hence the Engineering Officer will be expected to be flexible with regards the specific role and location.

Summary of main responsibilities:
• Assist with process mapping and process development
• Assist with the preparation and implementation of detailed time based Project Plans
• Assist with project risk analysis and contribute towards development of suitable countermeasures
• Process and control project change requests throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide space mapping calculations CAD drawings to support facility layout
• Capacity planning
• Demand forecasting
• Time studies
• Manning models
• Process document change control throughout the document lifecycle
• Data reporting using appropriate presentation methods
• Liaison with customers both internally and externally
• Work hand in hand with operations to ensure minimum impact of project work and the seamless introduction of new initiatives
• Maintain project records in line with the company quality management system and BS/EN/ISO90001 (Training provided)
• To take care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work.

Skills and Qualifications required:
• Good organisational and planning skills to facilitate regular need to multi-task and prioritise work
• Analytical/problem solving skills and recognition of need for accuracy
• Good self-motivation and ability to work on own initiativ3 and also in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• A high degree of computer literacy including advance knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel
